What ?

Every two years, the EUDY, European Union of Deaf Youth, gives the opportunity to a local organization of young deaf people to host the event EDYC, European Deaf Youth Capital.
This event gathers more than 500 deaf people coming from different European countries, in order to exchange, to learn other languages and cultures, and to open up internationally.
After Stockholm (2017) and Groningen (2019), Nantes has been selected to organize the 3rd EDYC on its territory. It’s the first French city to be selected !
Who ?

By who ?
This event is managed by an organizing committee (OC) from VIVA, which is a young deaf people organization located in Nantes.
The most important thing to know about this OC is that all members are motivated to rise to the great challenge !
For who ?
For everyone !
The event EDYC is especially targeting the youth deaf, but it is open to everyone.

Where and when ?

The 3rd EDYC will take place from Tuesday 27th June to Sunday 2nd July in Nantes, France.
How ?

The OC organizes the event EDYC with help of different associations, such as EUDY, JSF (Jeunes Sourds de France, i.e. Young Deaf people from France), CSCS44 (Centre Socio-Culturel des Sourds de 44 i.e. Socio-Cultural Center of Deaf people from 44… And different organizations, such as the Nantes town hall, Culture LSF, the County and Regional Councils… And so many !

Why ?

There are three objectives by way of the event EDYC :
– Highlight the local organizations, deaf and hearing, which will participate to this event.
– Make known the city of Nantes in all its specificities and the accessibility projects set up jointly with the associations in recent years.
– Bring international opportunities to young deaf people, open their eyes to their skills and show them models and possibilities of success.
